If your a motorsport fan you can visit here in May for the Formula 1 race in Monte Carlo. Nice, France is just short train ride away and offers much cheaper lodging for the Formula 1 week. May is also the Cannes Film Festival month which takes place a few miles west of Nice.The winter it can get a little chilly so plan accordingly.
