New Jersey Transit Train [SNAPSHOT OF THE DAY]

New Jersey Transit Train

New Jersey Transit Train

The north east enjoys train rides and train stations that is culturally unavailable in the rest of the United States. It is also inconvenience of transportation but America was built for the automobile and the open road! The state of New Jersey is quite an  anomaly compared to most other states in the USA. If you need a quick ride to New York City then this is your ticket.

Where to Stay in Las Vegas? – Hilton Hotel & Casino

Hilton Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada

Hilton Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada

I stayed here for the first time over the weekend since they were running one of the best deals in Vegas. This is normally rare I’ve found over a few years with this hotel since they seem to book well due to the location near the convention center.
I was familiar with the hotel before staying here for the first time. I love the buffet and the gambling area isn’t too shabby. The sports betting is a great place to have some fun and watch the games over the weekend.

Now with my hotel room I became quickly unimpressed with the hotel sadly. Once I arrived they checked me in and I was off to the north tower. Once inside I wanted to place a wake up call but nobody ever picked up……

The room had a nice makeover but it was missing parts like the gear cover to our door. Then moving to the bathroom the bath was chipped all over the place and lacking paint on about 15% of it. Getting in around 2:00am we went on a hunt for a quick drink before we headed back to bed and couldn’t figure out how to get one……

All and all book the Hilton for pure convenience or a Star Trek wedding. If your stuck at the convention center for a huge convention (like SEMA) where the taxi line has more people in it than all the Strip Clubs in Clark County you will be glad you picked the Hilton Hotel. If you want luxury feeling or any kind of service you should look elsewhere.

2010 Mitsubishi Ralliart Sportback – Sunday Drive [PREVIEW]

2010 Mitsubishi Ralliart Sportback from Lima, Ohio to Los Angeles, California

2010 Mitsubishi Ralliart Sportback from Lima, Ohio to Los Angeles, California

Our drive with the new Mitsubishi Ralliart Sportback was quite an interesting one. Growing up in the south I had never tackled snow before and right as we hit Wyoming a snow storm of epic proportions hit  and I-70 was closed just behind us.  We made a great stop in Park City, Utah which was my first visit to that lovely part of Utah. The car has some decent horsepower along with plenty of space. I am not a huge wagon fan per say but I really dig the way this car looks.

Cadillac Ranch, Texas [SNAPSHOT OF THE DAY]

Cadillac Ranch, Texas

Cadillac Ranch, Texas

Just off Highway I-40 is this American iconic stop on any road trip you take down this road. The logic of this place or the reason it exist really doesn’t make sense or matter when you come upon this place. Bring some spray paint and leave your own mark on this Texas treasure. Watch out for the cows roaming the field!

Where to Eat in Miami Beach? Pizza Rustica on Washington Ave.

Pizza Rustica South Beach - 863 Washington Ave Miami Beach, FL 33139 (305) 674-8244

Pizza Rustica South Beach - 863 Washington Ave Miami Beach, FL 33139 (305) 674-8244

This place is a must stop for me every time I come to Miami Beach. I prefer this one since it’s the original location and love to just order more food than I could ever eat and hope for the best. Once you cram into this New York sized place you will be greeted by a glass display full of pizza. Huge square sicilian style pizza ready for your order. A friend and myself ordered a Hawaiian slice, Pepperoni, and Sweet Sausage.

Three slices and drinks out the door for under $20 (which could feed three easily) and we sat down enjoying ourselves and people watching in the crazy part of South Beach. Each slice of pizza was top shelf as always which is a combo including minimal sauce and a ton of dough. It’s an interesting approach for pizza and it works, Pizza Rustica knocks it out of the park.

While eating someone spotted us for non locals and picked up that we could never finish these four huge slices among us. We brokered a deal to sell two squares for $1.00 so this man wouldn’t have to “wait in the long line he claimed” and we were happy to receive some return on our pizza investment. My buddy wanted to hang out and sell the rest of our leftover pizza but I was ready to check in to our hotel at this point. Our left over pizza didn’t make it to the trash can outside as a homeless person asked if he could finish it. Mission accomplished, we ate amazing pizza, people watched in South Beach, made a return on our pizzainvestment and fed the homeless all in twenty minutes.

No where else are you going to find this kind of silly entertainment while gorging yourself in delicious pizza. A+ for atmosphere, location, and taste by me. The only issue your going to run into is PARKING. Especially if it’s a weekend night note that this is a huge post night club scene here. This is the South Beach fourth meal (not Taco Bell) and things can get a little crazy. If your flying in for some food and Washington has no street parking my approach is always to go one block over onto Pennsylvania and park in the residential permit parking (illegally) and hope people take pity on me with my rental car decals! Even though parking will be a battle you will realize it was worth every moment of frustration when you step inside.

The city of Shinjuku is full and bustling during the day but somehow at night it has this peaceful calm about it. The picture sends a message of loud noises and activity but at this moment not a person can be found so late on a weekday morning.

Where to Eat in New York City? Cafe Habana for Fantastic Cuban Food

Cafe Habana 17 Prince St New York, NY 10012 (212) 625-2002

Cafe Habana 17 Prince St New York, NY 10012 (212) 625-2002

Let me get the few small downsides out of the way so we can relish on how awesome this place is. You are going to wait 30-45 minutes to sit down and eat so be ready. You will also sit at a table that won’t fit your plates. It will feel like your eating with the two couples on either side of you but your not, so don’t try stealing their food for samples.

Order the Grilled Corn Mexican style. I don’t care if you hate corn (like me) you will die for this stuff. I was talked into eating some and didn’t regret one bite I took of this stuff.

For my meal I scored a cuban sandwich that was spot on. New York isn’t a place you expect to taste some delicious Cuban treats but they have it. Some other pluses here are they have the cutest and sweetest servers I have found anywhere in Soho. Along with all this place has to offer it has great value for it’s price. If your in Soho with a craving this place is a MUST stop.

2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS - Oceanside, California

Oceanside is a quaint city with six digit population planted in the northern part of San Diego County. It is home to the longest wooden pier on the west coast. The California Surf Museum is also located in downtown Oceanside if your looking to kill some time while visiting the area. If you happen to be visiting in May Oceanside Harbor Beach hosts the world’s 2nd largest Beach Soccer festival, The Southern California Beach Soccer Championships has become an international event.

Enough about adventures while in Oceanside when we have some American muscle to pedal through the city. While your not going to find an ideal city MPG at 16 miles per gallon. Funny how when driving the car it doesn’t really seem to be a concern as you dominate the local beach scenery. The clutch on the manual transmission isn’t aggressive  enough that you will be annoyed in traffic putting the clutch pedal in and out.

The small narrow streets feel even smaller with the big body presence of the Camaro but we couldn’t find anywhere that the car just didn’t fit. Never did we cause a traffic jam of epic proportions or have locals throwing street vendor food at us for blocking roadways due to the wide stance of the car that make it look oh so good. In fact, most people just wanted to stop and talk to us about the car and how glad they were General Motors brought the classic car back into action.

With the interior the seats sit just a little too low making it inconvenient to rest your arm on the door sill. The gauges are laid out nicely which you can reference when cruising down the road. Seats are very comfortable and the shifter just seems to be placed in the perfect location for hours of going through the gears. Some other gauges sit just in front of the shifter with volts, transmission temp, oil temp, and oil pressure. Lastly the radio functions are fantastic including the iPod hookup which made the drive much more entertaining.

Los Angeles, California At Night Over the Highway101 and Highway110 Intersection

I shot this on Christmas Day overlooking the Highway 101 and Highway 110 interchange. While the highways look pretty busy they were much emptier than normal being Christmas evening. The crazy building sitting here is High School #9 from the Unified Los Angeles school district.
